Scholarship Program

All candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be a member of a United Methodist Church in the New York Annual Conference.
  • The applicant must be between the ages of 16 and 25 and have a minimum 2.75 GPA at the time of application to qualify for a scholarship.
  • The applicant must be a current high school senior or an enrolled student in an undergraduate program at an accredited higher education institution. Post-secondary degree students are not eligible.
  • There are three scholarship opportunities: Academic merit-based, Community service-based, and Financial need-based. You can only submit one application and select one type of scholarship.

Scholarship Fund For Urban Ministry

The Scholarship Fund is designated primarily to assist those persons who are planning to enter full‑time ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church with special interest in urban ministry.

All candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Membership in a United Methodist Church in the New York Annual Conference.
  • Full or Part-Time enrollment in a seminary approved by the University Senate of the United Methodist Church academic year 2023 – 2024 pursuing a graduate degree. Unfortunately, at this time New York Theological Seminary is not approved.
  • Must be an inquiring candidate, with an assigned mentor, in the candidacy process of the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church; or a certified candidate.
