The United Methodist City Society (UMCS) is a multi-faceted social service organization dedicated to supporting United Methodist Churches within the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. The organization is committed to embodying the gospel of Jesus Christ by looking to enhance the lives of all people.

The core values of the UMCS’ work include caring for the poor, healing the sick, and welcoming children by focusing on four program areas to achieve these goals:

The United Methodist City Society acts as an agent of change for United Methodist Churches, its members, and the community at large by sponsoring programs and creating partnerships that support churches in their development, facilitate the implementation of church-managed

education, daycare, outreach, and fellowship programs for members and the surrounding community, promote the education and development of children and youth in our communities, and enable individuals to overcome destructive addictions and equip them to re-enter the larger community.

UMCS mobilizes its resources to best support and empower churches and programs, identifies both existing and potential areas of need, and adheres to a disciplined process in selecting and managing philanthropic investments and measuring the results.
